Earlier this year, Glasses Direct celebrated its 20th birthday and some of the systems on the old website were almost the same age! So, as you can imagine, we were very much in need of an update. Glasses Direct now has a new look — which the keen-eyed among you have probably already noticed! Glasses Direct’s new website is faster, slicker and easy to navigate. Keep reading to find out all the amazing new features which help to make browsing the site more enjoyable for you.
What improvements can I expect on Glasses Direct’s new website?
Take a look at some of the new updates we have made to the Glasses Direct website and the benefits this will have on your browsing experience.
Faster loading time
You will notice now that pages on Glasses Direct’s new website load much more quickly. They are also better optimised for mobile to make browsing and ordering on your phone a total breeze!
No more paperwork!
Previously, if you wanted to return your glasses, you had to fill out a form that came with your order and then mail it back to us. On our new site, you can find your order in your account and let us know directly on the site why you want to return it and how you would like to proceed.
Intelligent lens flow
We used to let you order any type of lens with any type of prescription, but that can lead to bad results for you and your new glasses! This meant that we had to then manually contact you to discuss why certain lenses were not suitable for your prescription and amend the order following that. However, on our new site, you can enter your prescription first and then the lens selection shown to you will be tailored to your prescription so you will be able to view only the right options.
Improved size filters
It is important for you to be able to find the right frame size to ensure the frame is suitable for your lenses and also fits you just right.
As you may already be aware, previously you could filter our glasses by overall size but perhaps it was important to you that the frame or nose bridge in particular had a specific width — our new filters let you go into detail so you can find suitable frames with the right dimensions.
It is easier than ever to find similar styles
If it is less about size and more about looks for you then it is now easier than ever to find similar styles. When you open up a specific product, you will find a list of similar frames under the main product information, with an option to see all glasses in a similar style at the click of a single button! On desktop, you can also access this on the main product landing page (like the example below). Trolling through the website to find similar styles is now a thing of the past.
